Hi, I'm Zachary

Step into the role of a world builder! In this hands-on, story-rich class, students will create their own civilizations, cultures, and characters—drawing from real history, epic myths, and bold imagination. Whether you're into creative writing, game design, or role-playing adventures, you'll learn how to build believable settings, design meaningful conflicts, and explore big ideas through play. We'll use visualization exercises to spark creativity and develop custom charts to help randomize ideas, making each world feel fresh, surprising, and alive. Perfect for curious minds who want to craft immersive worlds and become stronger thinkers, storytellers, and creators.

I've lived and worked in Bali, France, Canada, and the U.S., and am a native English speaker with near fluency in French and basic Spanish. I co-founded the Biophilic Education Alliance and co-authored the Da Vinci Life-Skills Curriculum, blending project-based learning with social-emotional development. My Teacher-Gamer Handbook has reached educators worldwide and earned recognition from HundrED as one of the most innovative curricula globally.

As a tutor with more than 20 year of experience in education, I bring a relational, imaginative, and rigorous approach. I help learners connect ideas across disciplines, build confidence through creative expression, and develop tools for lifelong learning—whether through writing, world-building, or strategic play.

Hi, I'm Ms. Amanda

I have over 10 years of experience teaching and tutoring both native and non-native English speakers across a wide range of ages and learning levels. My work includes ESL instruction as well as ELA support for native speakers, including essay writing, reading comprehension, phonics, grammar, and creative writing. I’ve taught in university and community college programs, middle school classrooms, intensive ESL settings, homeschooling environments, and one-on-one tutoring. I support students with academic writing, exam preparation, literacy development, pronunciation, and confidence in both spoken and written English.

I have a M.A. in Linguistics (TESOL), a B.A. in English, and am a licensed Secondary ELA teacher in California. I have lived and taught in the United States, Japan, and England, and I have traveled extensively throughout Central and South America, Southeast Asia, and Europe. I speak Spanish fluently and French, and my multilingual background helps me connect with students learning English as well as those strengthening their native language skills. I enjoy hiking, listening to music, reading and writing, traveling, spending time in nature, and teaching yoga.

My teaching approach is student-centered, supportive, and culturally responsive. I believe students learn best when they feel confident and understood, and I aim to help each learner develop strong literacy skills, clear self-expression, and a positive relationship with learning.
